Between LJ getting less useful to me, DW being the new home, and Twitter getting slightly more useful to me, I'm going to cut further down on my use of LJ. I'll still go to individual journals to read and post comments, if they crosspost from DW or if they're linked to from way elsewhere, but enh. This place is getting worse and/or weirder in that unpleasant way, and I'd rather spend my time on sites I want to be on.

Woo, one fewer site to check!

I'm contributing!

"If you don't revert this change, I'll leave! Except that all my friends and comms are here, which means I'll never leave, and so you can safely disregard my complaints. This goes triple if I was upset before."

"LJ is just getting different, not worse! I mean, sure they had that security leak that they lied about, and sure they keep changing things that no one wants them to change, and yeah getting information from them is as fun as getting a stinger from a wasp, but that's just the way of the internet! See also Facebook and Google+, who do similar things! Dreamwidth, who hasn't done shit like this so far, is for squares and drips anyhow."

Aw, look, it's trying to be Facebook!

You can make a Dreamwidth account without needing an invite code for the rest of the month.

I figured I'd mention, for some reason.

The issue I'm running into right now, with regards to cooking, is choice paralysis and lack of knowledge.  I will probably be able to get past these by living with cooks (as I am), but in the meantime, my random urge to cook is perpetually thwarted by "...cook what?".  And seriously, these lists of ingredients, bloody daunting.

I should get that I Hate To Cook Book back again some day.

G: I'm English, we do guilt well.
X: I'm anxious, I'm good at it too!
G: This is going to go well.

The minuscule ants and their needle-knives are on the warpath again.

When I get itchy like this, all of my patience goes right out the window.  Apparently, it requires patience to spend quiet time with someone when they're in an out-loud-voice sorta mood.  So, now I know -- when I am itchy, get away from persons.

Today's episode of "I don't say 'literally' lightly":

I literally have more yarn than I have clothes.  Including my bathrobe, and my coat, and all of my shoes.  I checked.

I have a Stylish script that just makes everything black text, because for some reason, a whole lotta websites love the shit out of grey text.

Could someone please explain to me the value of using #555 as a text colour?  Especially on a slightly grey background?  Is there some sort of squinting fetish I've missed out on?  Perhaps people are really tired of being able to read?  Or an underground movement dedicated to increasing Stylish use, perhaps.
